There was just no way to aptly capture or share all of the awe-inspiring art in the @beyondthestreetsart exhibit! 40,000 square feet of graffiti and street art all by California based artists! I truly could’ve sat and just stared at each piece all day. The art is expressive and real, with a message screaming out in every painting, photo, and sculpture. Even my favorite, world renown street artist Banksy, was displayed! So many different genres and styles of art for everyone’s taste. One of my other faves was the video of the giant red graffiti tarp. A warehouse height tarp that spanned wall to wall and ceiling to floor and was fully covered in graffiti art from front to back and head to toe.
It’s a must see! Unfortunately, their time has come and gone in LA, but the good news is, they are going from LA to New York! They are even trying to expand to other states. Each state will feature only that states street artists. There were also mini bonus activities called Summer Streets that featured screenings, talks, and signings, by some of the biggest names in the art, music, and entertainment industry such as Seth Rogen who did a screening feature called “This Is The End” with Evan Goldberg on July 19th. On Aug. 9th there was a “Thrashin’” screening hosted by Natas Kaupas featuring the cast members.
If @beyondthestreets is not coming to a town near you, you can still experience it by taking home your favorite art and art inspired clothing at the exhibits gift shop, and also online. Own or wear some of your favorite artists work now!
