Oh Positano!! I had the awesome opportunity to vacation on the Amalfi coast of Italy for five days a few years back, but if I could’ve, I would’ve stayed there forever! It is a wonderland of sand (albeit pebbly), sea, sun and scenic sensations! The hills of Positano are covered in vibrant colorful houses and hotels that perfectly fit together like an intricate puzzle piece. Whether strolling through the beautiful town checking out boutiques and sites, eating way to much delectable food in the fantastic restaurants or snacking in a seaside cafe watching the world go by, it all adds up to the perfect vacay! Don’t even get me started on the views and the sunsets. No photo can capture the actual reality of the stunning sunsets every night.
The Amalfi coastline drive is arguably one of the most gorgeous in the world! So with Positano as my base, I checked out the beautiful nearby towns of Amalfi, Ravello and Sorrento. In Amalfi, I hiked the steep steps of the Amalfi Cathedral and managed to get a photo with NO ONE there! Please excuse the RBF in the photo, I was exhausted from walking that day and a bit frustrated that my mom kept making me take photos on the stairs. The hike to the top of the stairs was totally worth the workout for the stunning view!
Beware the food in Italy, it’s irresistible, delicious, and you can easily gain the Italy 15(lbs).
Speaking of fantastic, scrumptious food, there is a great place for some lunch or dinner on the beach called Chez Black. It’s definitely the place to see and be seen. The other uber hotspot for lunch or dinner is Le Sirenuse, a must see hotel and restaurant with amazing views, food, and impeccable service! The walk up the hill from the beach to Le Sirenuse was a better workout than the Santa Monica Stairs, so by the time I got back to my room I felt like I’d worked off my 10lbs of pasta! A girl can hope anyway, It’s all about finding balance 🙂
